EVERYONE PLAYS THEIR PART.

The Lufthansa Group is a global aviation group with a total of around 540 subsidiaries and equity investments which, in the financial year 2014, were organised into five operating segments: Passenger Airline Group, Logistics, MRO, Catering and, up to the end of 2014, IT Services. All the segments occupy a leading position in their respective markets.

Frankfurt Airport is Germany’s biggest commercial airport and the home base of Lufthansa. There the Group is collaborating with project partners on the E-PORT AN initiative to find new ways to protect the environment. Its objective is to permanently reduce emissions by using electromobility in the area of aircraft handling.

The Lufthansa Group’s TaxiBot, eTug and eTaxi projects are exploring various electromobile future concepts for the green taxiing and towing of aircraft on the apron. Another project – eLift – has the aim of developing the electric catering forklift of the future.

The subject of electromobility is also becoming increasingly important for airports and airlines. With regard to scale, number and innovative strength, the projects gathered under the E-PORT AN umbrella are unique worldwide
